I visited London and vacationed in Cornwall during the 70's. It was a pretty slow and simple place, and people did not have much money. My aunt and uncle and cousins lived there. People judged each other more on things like class and talent and taste than they did on money. Thatcher changed that, and money worship is now the order of the day.
